Negotiation at the workplace...Our team presentation

Date: 19th October 2014 (Sunday)

Definition of negotiation:-
  • Is an approach used to settle differences / miscommunication between people. 
  • Its is involves a process where mutual agreement is achieve by avoiding argument and dispute.
Why negotiate?
  1. To avoid conflict and disagreement due to differences needs, wants, aims and belief.
  2. To avoid further cause dissatisfaction and to overcome the matter without causing future barriers to communication.
  3. To address the problem not the personality issue.
  4. Mutual agreement / tolerance
Stages of negotiation:-
  1. Well prepared- setting a limit time-scale to prevent the disagreement continuing.
  2. Discussion - put forward the case as their understanding of the situation.
  3. Clarification of goals - viewpoint of both sides need to be clarified.
  4. Towards a WIN-WIN situation/outcome - both sides feel that they have gain something positive through the process of negotiation.
  5. Implementation of a course of action - implemented to carry through the decision.
